Manufactured by the famous company Taylor, in Sheffield, England, around
1880,
this horseman’s multi-blade, with stag horn handle, has 12 tools: main
and pen blades, saw, file and screwdriver blade,
reamer, bradle and corkscrew, hoof pick and nutcracker, tweezers and toothpick.
“TAYLORS “SHEFFIELD” “TAYLORS WITTNESS” with the “all-seeing eye” cutler’s
mark and
“MALKIN & LAWLEY 161 STRAND” for the London retailer. The nickel side-plate
is engraved “ROWE 111”,
most probably for the third Rowe son at college or school.
